Actor, singer, songwriter, filmmaker Renee Wilson wrote and filmed the documentary "Crepe Covered Sidewalks" about the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. It also showed how the hurricane effected her family in New Orleans. It was presented last week at the Museum of African Diaspora in San Francisco. She is joined here by her husband.

Charles Lloyd New Quartet at the Palace of Fine Arts for the SFJAZZ Spring Season.

In its day, there was nothing like a big, gas-guzzling, Lincoln Continental Mark IV. Of course, today, the EPA would be all over it for its lack of fuel efficiency but back in the day, it ruled the streets.

Patti Austin – Yoshi’s San Francisco

I have loved Patti Austin for as long as I can remember. It was an honor to photograph her shows. I saw her three times during her run and each show was amazing. You can see more photos from her show here.

Ernestine told her band, “Play like you had the blues last night.” That is exactly what they did.

The Fillmore Jazz Festival was held July 4 and 5 on Fillmore Street running from Eddy Street up to Jackson Street. There were three different performance stages featuring jazz, blues, latin and soul music. There were even swing dancing lessons.
